Rab Outdoor Expedition Specialist Display - Whiteroom
Rab at Snow+Rock, Covent Garden & Expedition Display Piece
Rab tasked us with creating a free standing &sculpture& display unit that would showcase their specialst Expedition Range at Snow+Rock in Covent Garden. Rab wanted the stand to be more sculpture than traditional POS display to help the consumer understand the strength and speciality of the Expedition Gear series.
Inspired by the 'Expedition Man& display we designed and installed as part of a stand for Rab and Lowe Alpine at the Outdoor show 2014, at the Messe Friedrichshafen (pictured below), Rab wanted to continue giving consumers a look at Expedition Gear with the use of an adjustable mannequin that gives the garments a 'real life' feel.
The Expedition Suit has been developed over many years in conjunction with active Himalayan climbers and polar explorers and has been designed for high altitude climbing and prolonged travel in extremely cold climates. The suit has been used extensively on 8000m peaks and Polar expeditions for many years, Rab athlete Gary Rolfe credits his down suit with saving his life when his dogs and sled fell through Arctic sea ice. Because the suit is a very specialist piece of kit, it's not really suitable for any other use.
The display consists of a large background image and 3D mountain peak to draw the customer over and begin the consumer journey.
The base of the stand contains communication and graphic capabilities through sound, screen and iPad integration, enabling Rab to showcase their brochure of Expedition Gear with videos, taking the sta connecting the viewer positively to the display and the idea of their own expedition.
